An Affair To Remember, Recall & Relive. Limban serves up the experience of a lifetime, both tangible and intangible.
Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve
The Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve is aptly called the ‘Land of the Tigers’ and the best way to spot these majestic predators is through gypsy safaris. The gypsy safaris organized by TATR, operate twice daily, early morning and afternoon, and the timings vary seasonally according to sunrise and sunset. As only limited numbers of gypsys are allowed inside the park, it is best to get your bookings done well in advance as these are subject to availability. Recently, night safaris have also been introduced and deliver a spectacular and thrilling experience.
In addition, for the absolutely crazy wildlifers, full day safaris are also part of the platter and need to be booked in advance too. Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve is a dense forest area, punctuated with smooth meadows, deep valleys, and a great atmosphere to stabilize more numbers of tigers and other animals like the leopard, sloth bear, hyena, jackal, wild dog, nilgai and sambar which inhabit the reserve as well as a host of stunning resident and migratory birds.
Teak and bamboo dominate this landscape and scenic drives with interesting wildlife sightings are assured at Tadoba. Limban has convenient access to 5 gates - Khutwanda, Mohurli, Agarzari, Devada and Junona. The jungle is divided into a core zone - Khutwanda & Mohurli and a buffer zone – Agarzari, Devada and Junona, all of which offer bounteous sightings.
Apart from the above 5 gates, many other access gates to the forest are located approximately an hour to a 90 minute drive from the lodge. The online permit booking opens 60 to 120 days prior to the safari date and prices vary according to lead booking time period. A limited quota of Tatkal safaris are available but can be booked only 3 days prior to the date. Prices vary for special bookings.
Wildlife & Nature Trails
Discovering the jungle on foot is a totally different and thrilling experience. For the bold and adventurous it offers most enticing journey. Accompanied by local guides, every step takes you closer to getting to uncover the treasures of Tadoba. Your guide will fill you in with knowledge of each plant, bush and tree, its usage, medicinal values and benefits to generations of tribals. As you take silent steps forward your chances of spotting the most amazing insects & birds are very high. This is when you can literally follow in the footsteps of a herbivore or a carnivore, get up close to capture unbelievable imagery and shudder in astonishment when you suddenly hear the distant calls of barking deer or even a thundering growl of a tiger. In all, an amazing experience and a must do.
Duration
The duration of the gypsy safari inside the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve is approximately 3.5 - 4 hours each in the morning, afternoon and night respectively.
